Hawaiian Airlines won't appeal trustee appointment HONOLULU (AP) =97 Hawaiian Airlines won't appeal a bankruptcy court's=20 decision to appoint a trustee to oversee the carrier through its financial= =20 reorganization, the company said Tuesday. In a statement, Hawaiian's=20 chairman and chief executive John W. Adams said that while he and the board= =20 disagree with the decision, the company wants to move its restructuring=20 ahead "in the most expedient manner possible and without distraction from=20 further court actions." On March 16, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Robert J.= =20 Faris granted a motion by Hawaiian's main creditor, Boeing Capital Corp.,=20 to appoint a trustee to oversee the carrier's operations. Seattle-based=20 Boeing Capital, the financial arm of Boeing Co., had accused Adams and the= =20 board of insider dealings and mismanagement that have led to the airline's= =20 financial woes. Hawaiian, which filed for protection from its creditors on= =20 March 21, denied any wrongdoing or mismanagement. Executives argued that=20 bankruptcy was forced on the carrier by Boeing's refusal to renegotiate=20 airplane lease agreements signed between 1999 and 2001 =97 before the=20 downturn in air travel following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The= =20 U.S. Trustee's Office in Honolulu is coordinating the search for an=20 overseer and has said it expects to make a decision by the end of the month. *************************************************** The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site/TnTisland.com Roj (Roger James) escape email mailto:ejames@xxxxxxxxx Trinbago site: www.tntisland.com Carib Brass Ctn site www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ Steel Expressions www.mts.net/~ejames/se/ Mas Site: www.tntisland.com/tntrecords/mas2003/ Site of the Week: http://www.caribbeanfloral.com TnT Webdirectory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
