The BART link to SFO opens June 22nd. It will be interesting to see how viable that is. Personally, when traveling to San Francisco on business, I never had any problems flying into SFO. It was consistently about a 20-minute cab ride from the airport to the Embarcadero Center (and vice versa) even at rush hour. I only took BART to OAK once and it was a little slower than I would have liked, but I got to the airport in about 40 minutes. I wanted to catch AS flight 261 from SFO to SEA that day, but when I called Alaska Airlines, they said it had mechanical problems and was diverting to LAX instead of SFO. I figured OAK was a better bet. Little did I know at the time. :( Jon -- Jon Wright mailto:jwright@xxxxxxxxxxx 425-635-0338 ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Ross" <damiross2@xxxxxxxxx> To: <AIRLINE@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 23, 2003 5:07 PM Subject: Re: New US Airports > No. Currently, you need to take a bus from OAK to the nearest BART station > (10 to 20 minutes; for some stupid reason BART stops at the Coliseum, 2 > miles from the airport). Then, you take BART to SF. This is about 20-30 > minutes, depending on where you are going. Still, it beats going from SFO > to downtown SF.
