Depends on your definition of tax.

Some call it surcharges, other call it fee's.

But here is an example ticket YVR-ATL Jun 16/Jun 27th

Base Fare - $248.96CAD

Then a combination of the following surcharges/taxes/fees are levied by
Air Canada.

NavCanada - $15-$24CAD per round-trip ticket
Fuel Surcharges - $15-$25 CAD per round-trip ticket
Insurance Surcharge - $6CAD per round-trip ticket (w/in Canada)
Air Travelers Security Tax (9/11 tax) - $14-24CAD (per round-trip
ticket)
Airport Fees - $5-$15CAD - depending on airport (US airports have
similar fees)
Airport Improvement Fee (charged separately in Montreal) - $10CAD (at
last check)
Goods and Services Tax - 7% of base fare

Total: $377.18 CAD

A total of $128.22 in additional fees/taxes/surcharges.

For those that don't have a calculator handy that is the equivalent of
a 52% tax.

(The double insult is that if you only flew to Toronto, even though it
is the same planes as YYZ is the ATL connection point, the fare would
be Base Fare - $538CAD or a total of $685.96CAD. It's absolutely
insulting.)
