Re: Airport official: replacement for United may be necessary

The airport is in the City and County of Denver.... The City of Denver is the same as the County of Denver and vice-a-versa. Denver acquired land from Arapahoe and Adams Counties to build the airport. The Denver metro area is made up of the counties of Denver, Arapahoe, Jefferson, Boulder, Adams and Douglas. I believe all those counties supported additional taxes to fund the building of a new stadium for the Denver Broncos. I, myself didn't vote for it when I lived there, but it passed. I believe the people of Denver take great pride in their airport... as they should.

What would happen to the city if UA went out of business and was unable to woo another airline? Would the city be forced just take the loss?

Jose
Don't think the folks living in Denver (proper) or county would be willing
to support an airport in another County even though it serves Denver.
