Each of the extortions placed upon a passenger ticket may be small but they add up. My $105 ticket between OAK and LAX broke down to approximately $82 for the airilne and $23 to the government. That's about a 25% rate. I would love to get 25% of something that didn't cost me anything to produce. Taxes are extortion no matter how you look at it. Can you say "Mafia Protection Money?"
