05/06/2003 - Updated 07:49 AM ET Hawaiian Airlines forecasts $5.3 million loss HONOLULU (AP) ? The embattled Hawaiian Airlines expects to lose $5.3 million in the second quarter, ending June 30. That's considerably smaller than the $31.1 million it lost in the second quarter of 2002. The Honolulu-based carrier projected shortfalls of about $2.9 million in April and $4.4 million in May, and $2 million in net income in June. Hawaiian is attempting to restructure under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It filed for Chapter 11 on March 21.
