Hawaiian Airlines forecasts $5.3 million loss

HONOLULU (AP) ? The embattled Hawaiian Airlines expects to lose $5.3
million in the second quarter, ending June 30.
That's considerably smaller than the $31.1 million it lost in the second
quarter of 2002. The Honolulu-based carrier projected shortfalls of about
$2.9 million in April and $4.4 million in May, and $2 million in net income
in June. Hawaiian is attempting to restructure under Chapter 11 bankruptcy
protection. It filed for Chapter 11 on March 21. The airline is forecasting
total operating revenues of $154.4 million this quarter, up $6.4 million
from last year.
