Security screeners arrested after fight at BWI LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) ? Two security screeners at Baltimore-Washington International Airport were arrested Saturday after fighting with each other and with police who rushed to break up the brawl. Both screeners have been placed on administrative leave after the fight, which injured a Maryland Transportation Authority police officer. It was the first time screeners with the Transportation Security Administration have been involved in such an incident, said TSA spokesman Brian Turmail. The agency was created in response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The screeners have been charged with assault and other crimes. MTA police said Antwain Grant, 28, of Baltimore and Jayson Boyd, 23, of Mitchelville, started arguing at about 2 p.m. Three MTA police officers tried to break up the fight, said police spokesman Cpl. Greg Prioleau. When officers broke into the scuffle, one of the screeners pushed an officer into a glass wall, shattering it and injuring the officer. The glass cut a second officer. BWI paramedics took the two officers to North Arundel Hospital. Both were treated and released. The screeners were treated by paramedics at the airport, Prioleau said. Grant was charged with three counts of assault, resisting arrest, malicious destruction of property over $500 and disturbing the peace. Boyd was charged with assault and disturbing the peace. *************************************************** The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site/TnTisland.com Roj (Roger James) escape email mailto:ejames@xxxxxxxxx Trinbago site: www.tntisland.com Carib Brass Ctn site www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ Steel Expressions www.mts.net/~ejames/se/ Site of the Week: http://www.pscutt.com TnT Webdirectory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
