As for the other two points raised in the thread, Southwest flies to ALB, so it can obviously handle 737s - the main runway is 7200', which is longer than LGA. It definately wasn't ATA, that was my first thought, but I when I pointed it out to my travelling companion (whose grandmother lives mere blocks from Midway), she immediately dismissed it, saying "naah, not bright enough."
