Aeroplan Voted World's Best Frequent Flyer Program for the Second Consecutive Year MONTREAL, April 11 /CNW Telbec/ - In an annual survey of the world's most frequent air travellers, Aeroplan has been voted the world's Best Frequent Flyer Program for the second consecutive year. Recipients of the prestigious "OAG" ("Official Airline Guide") "Airline of the Year Awards" were announced at a gala ceremony in London yesterday evening. Aeroplan competed for this award alongside prominent industry leaders, including the frequent flyer programs of British Airways, Continental, Southwest Airlines and Lufthansa. "We are very honoured to have Aeroplan once again be recognized by world- wide air travellers as the Best Frequent Flyer Program," said Aeroplan's President and Chief Executive Officer, Rupert Duchesne. "This prestigious award confirms that our ongoing efforts to further enhance the Aeroplan program and our continued customer focus are appreciated by the world's most discriminating travellers. The recognition, particularly gratifying in light of current challenges within the industry, also proves that we are on the right track to becoming a global leader in the loyalty management business." Aeroplan is known as one of the most rewarding loyalty programs in the industry. In 2002, over 1.4 million round-trips were redeemed for travel on Air Canada and its worldwide Star Alliance partners. During the past year, Aeroplan has also introduced a number of program enhancements. In May 2002, Aeroplan launched its website www.aeroplan.com. This innovative, easy-to-use site offers members 24/7 access to latest program news, updated account information and convenient online redemptions. Moreover, Aeroplan has added a number of new partners in order to offer members new opportunities to accumulate valuable Aeroplan Miles. In the fall, Aeroplan announced exciting new ways to use Aeroplan Miles. Aeroplan members can now redeem their miles for hotel stays, car rentals, ski and Air Canada Vacations packages. In addition, Air Canada's web site www.aircanada.ca was named as Best Airline Web Site. Overall, Air Canada was shortlisted for excellence in seven categories, ranking it among the top four airlines in the world for most nominations: OAG Airline of the Year 2003, Best Airline Based in North America, Best Trans-Atlantic Airline, Best Executive/Business Class, Best Economy/Coach Class, Best Frequent Flyer Program and Best Airline Web Site. The OAG awards are based on votes from a worldwide audience of business travellers. A total of 52 airlines and airports received nominations in 19 categories. Results are collected and independently verified by market information company, Taylor Nelson Sofres. Since its inception 21 years ago, the OAG awards have become coveted industry honours. The profile of the voters represents the very essence of experienced global travel. *************************************************** The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site/TnTisland.com Roj (Roger James) escape email mailto:ejames@xxxxxxxxx Trinbago site: www.tntisland.com Carib Brass Ctn site www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ Steel Expressions www.mts.net/~ejames/se/ Site of the Week: http://www.carstt.com TnT Webdirectory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
