Wacars worked fine in my Toshiba laptop, but will not work in my recent Dell desktop with sound on the mother board. I downloaded a trial of Airnav's Acars decoder and found it worked ok in the Dell, so I decided to buy it. When I was ordering it I saw that a product called AirNav Suite required no subscription, just a one time fee, so I ordered it at the same time without trying the demo. Their URL is: http://www.airnavsystems.com/ After using the AirNav Suite I sent the following to AirNav support: >I am puzzled... that almost all the flights shown are UAL, and the data >seems very old. For instance at 10pm the map showed a flight still in the air >which had in fact landed at 5:30pm. Frequently I am told the server is down, >but a few seconds later I get old data??? The reply was as follows: >About AirNav Suite and AirNav Internet Lite Internet based flight tracking: >Internet flight tracking within AirNav Suite and AirNav Internet Lite is >dependent on data available on the server. >AirNav Suite also tracks flights using other sources of data, please see below. >For the internet, basically 90% of the flights crossing the Atlantic and Pacific >are tracked. \>AirNav has also a good coverage for the Australia/New Zealand region. >Some flights in Asia and Africa are also tracked. >In the USA usually only UAL flights are shown. >In Europe you may see some EU coded flights: these are server codified >flights which do not supply us with flight number. >So, in resume, almost all oceanic flights are covered with some flights being >shown for other parts of the world. >AirNav Suite may also track flights automatically using data from an ACARS >Decoder (from flights sending position information, in a 300 NM from your >location) or manually typed by the user. So don't expect Airnav Suite to give you much information about what is going on recently. Gerry I am a good German. I did not vote for the Nazis. I don't care who they send to the camps or what they do there as long as they don't send me. http://foley.ultinet.net/~gerry/africar/africa.html http://home.columbus.rr.com/gfoley http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/pollock/263/egypt/egypt.html
