Although the war in Iraq has been a major disruption to the airline=20
industry, carriers operating out of Trinidad and Tobago so far seem to be=20
weathering the slump that has affected the international environment.=20
National carrier BWIA reported that there has been no slowdown of=20
passengers and that no flights have been cancelled. Corporate=20
Communications manager Clint Williams said yesterday: =93Bookings aren=92t=
=20
great but there are about average.=94 BWIA operates daily flights to New=20
York, Washington DC and Miami as well as flights to London, Manchester and=
=20
several Caribbean destinations. American Airlines country manager Nisha=20
Maharaj said the airline=92s flights had not been changed and were on=20
schedule. American operates three daily flights=97two to Miami and one to=
 San=20
Juan, Puerto Rico. On Saturday, the airline has a Miami, San Juan and New=20
York service. British Airways district manager Marcelle Joseph was not=20
immediately available for comment yesterday but the airline which flies to=
=20
London from Tobago reported that flights were on schedule.
