CONCORDE STAYS VIRGIN TO VIRGIN By ERIC LENKOWITZ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- March 9, 2003 -- British Airways would turn its fleet of money-losing Concorde jets into a pile of supersonic scrap rather than allow its rival, Virgin Atlantic, to get its hands on the planes, the company said. "It would be like a local Ford dealership trying to look after a Formula One car," a BA spokesman told London's Sunday Express. Virgin owner Richard Branson has been interested in buying some of the planes for several years - and BA has been considering selling some to cut its losses. Branson vowed to turn a profit by running limited service on the flights, which speed celebs and CEOs across the Atlantic at the princely fee of $13,000 for a round-trip. Roger EWROPS
