Under one contract, the Mexico City-based airline will lease 11 new jets through Lombard Aviation Capital and International Lease Finance Corp. The first plane is to be delivered in October with the rest scheduled for deliveries throughout 2004. The orders were included in Boeing's order totals for 2002 and attributed to an unidentified customer, Boeing said. The airline will lease the other four jets from ILFC, which already owns those planes. The jets all sport 8-foot-tall winglets -- extensions on wings that help cut fuel consumption and increase airplane range. =20 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2003 AP
