I remember the 'statistic' commenting on the West Berlin side of
things, when they were considering moving from Bonn to Berlin.

If they did have connections, they were poor.

Life I believe is a bit better today. But I don't think they are
swarmed with 744s coming in from over the pond like Dulles is.
