Over the holidays my girlfriend and I took a trip to Barcelona. We booked AF BOS-CDG-BCN on the outbound and BCN-CDG-BOS for the return. I've been trying to get a trip report completed and out to everyone, however, work has been crazy...it is forthcoming, I promise. On the outbound portion my girlfriend's bag was lost and was not returned to us for five full days. Nobody in any luggage service center could tell us where the bag was or when it would be delivered. Upon getting the bag back, a number of items were missing from it. All together the items were worth about $150. We were instructed to write a letter, that could only be sent from our country of origin, explaining what was missing and any receipts if we had them. Well, yesterday the letter from Air France came back to us stating that they replace missing items on weight, not cost and that our items were only 4kg, so we only will be given a $40 check. We both think that this is totally unrealistic, partially because we have original receipts for the items. I'm wondering if you guys think I should write back asking for more money or accept this check with a reluctant smile. Thanks for your input. >From snowy BOS... t
