AIRLINE: I imagine this was terribly embarrasing for the airline. I recall an incident like this happening to Aeroflot and like them, I'm sure the leasing company contracted a third party agent, as well as an attorney, presented the necessary paperwork to the Varig office in Paris and then, got a handler who probably made sure the aircraft was empty, hooked it up and pushed it out to some storage area until the appropriate monies are paid.
