Hello from bizjournals.com! David Mueller (dmueller7@lycos.com) thought you might like the following article from Pacific Business News: FAA promises Honolulu airport flight path review ------------------------------------------------------------ The Federal Aviation Administration confirms it will take a fresh look at the flight approaches for Honolulu International Airport in the wake of a frightening approach by a Taiwanese jetliner last weekend. Airport officials say the China Air flight Saturday was within permissable altitude, speed and lateral positioning limits, but residents in and around Waikiki say the jet was well over land and came so close to buildings that they could see the passengers. The facts are not necessarily in dispute; it appears that current flight approach limitations effectively do permit such a close approach. But residents, including some who actually work in the airline industry, said they could not remember a jetliner so far inland at so low an altitude. FAA officials let the crew return to Taiwan without interviewing them. Copyright(c) American City Business Journals Inc. All rights reserved.
