(Dow Jones/AP) -- Revenue at US Airways Group Inc. declined in November while the airline's net loss widened, according to documents filed Monday in federal bankruptcy court. US Airways' revenue totaled $519 million for the month, down 9 percent from $572 million in October, according to the company's monthly operating report. Net losses amounted to $118 million, a 157 percent increase from $46 million in October. Operating expenses in November totaled $615 million compared with $553 million in October. Expenses related to the company's bankruptcy reorganization amounted to $11 million in November compared with $67 million in October. US Airways filed for bankruptcy protection in August. As part of its restructuring efforts, the company is reducing its operations and flight schedule at Florida's Orlando International Airport, according to papers filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Alexandria, Va. US Airways will reduce the number of gates it leases at the airport to 6 from 15. It will also try to reduce facilities it leases to support its flight services, such as ticket counter offices, baggage claim facilities, administrative offices and club facilities. The airline said the move will save about $18 million for the remaining lives of the leases, or about $3 million a year. US Airways, based in Arlington, Va., has terminated or is in the process of ending operations at various locations, along with seeking cost savings from employees. The company's proposed reorganization plan calls for the Retirement Systems of Alabama -- one of its top creditors -- to inject $240 million into the reorganized company in exchange for a substantial equity stake. In Friday's court papers, US Airways asked U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Stephen Mitchell for permission to end its leases at the Orlando airport and to enter a new operating agreement or lease for only the premises it needs. Mitchell is scheduled to consider the airline's request at a hearing Jan. 16. =20 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2003 AP
