Taiwan's China Airlines to buy 10 Boeing airliners and 12 Airbus jets Canadian Press Tuesday, December 24, 2002 TAIPEI (AP) - China Airlines Ltd., Taiwan's largest carrier, said Tuesday it has completed agreements to buy 10 jets from Boeing and 12 from Airbus. In addition to the firm orders for the 22 planes, the Airbus deal includes an option on six more jets, China Airlines said in a statement. No financial details were provided, though Boeing said its batch of planes - six B747-400 passenger aircraft and four B747-400 freighters - had a total list price of about $2 billion US. The new Boeing jets will replace four Boeing planes China Airlines currently leases from the government and two older Boeing cargo aircraft. The airline said it is buying 12 Airbus A330 aircraft for delivery from 2004 to 2007. The A330s will replace older mid-range A300-600s in the carrier's fleet. *************************************************** The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site/TnTisland.com Roj (Roger James) : escape email mailto:ejames@escape.ca Trinbago site: www.tntisland.com Carib Brass Ctn site www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ Steel Expressions www.mts.net/~ejames/se/ Site of the Week: www.tobagoweddings.com/ TnT Webdirectory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
