Southwest adding flights to 'connect the dots' While most major airlines are making dramatic flight cuts, discount giant=20 Southwest Airlines announced its latest expansion plans Thursday. The=20 carrier is not adding any more destinations, but is instead increasing=20 flights to better "connect the dots" between the cities it already serves.= =20 Both business and leisure travelers are certain to embrace the increases,=20 and the move will likely pressure major airlines to keep fares low to=20 destinations Southwest is targeting. Southwest plans two daily flights=20 between Detroit and Phoenix =97 a route on which it previously did not offer= =20 nonstop service. Baltimore also will see a big boost in Southwest's latest= =20 expansion, with the addition of BWI flights to Phoenix, Austin, San Antonio= =20 and West Palm Beach. Chicago Midway, Houston Hobby, Reno and San Diego are= =20 among the other airports to get new Southwest flights, scheduled to begin=20 April 6.
