If just thinking about the congested Washington-Baltimore airspace gives you the heebie-jeebies, turn your imagination to the teeming skies above New York and New Jersey. Now picture a proposed TV antenna tower for Bayonne, N.J., that would extend to 2,000 feet agl and poke into the approach and departure corridors for Newark, LaGuardia, and Linden airports. The $200 million antenna would replace the one that stood on the north tower of the World Trade Center, and would be the world's largest free-standing structure. The FAA invites comments from aircraft operators until January 2. NOTE: For more details about the antenna proposal, including the complete text of the FAA's report, go to AVweb's NewsWire at <http://avweb.com/n/?51b>.
