Man Breaches Security at O'Hare Wed Oct 16, 8:25 AM ET CHICAGO (AP) - The United Airlines terminal at O'Hare International Airport was evacuated for about 2 1/2 hours overnight after a man avoided a security checkpoint by entering the terminal through an exit, officials said. Based on eyewitness testimony and surveillance tape, authorities said the man may have boarded a plane for Detroit after the breach around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Chicago Department of Aviation spokeswoman Monique Bond said. Authorities in Detroit checked the 83 passengers after the flight landed, and police dogs searched the plane but found no sign of the man, Detroit Metropolitan Airport spokesman Mike Conway said. Other airports expecting flights from O'Hare were also notified, and passengers from those planes were to be re-screened upon landing. The terminal at O'Hare reopened early Wednesday after Chicago police searched for the unidentified man but found nothing. Leo/ORD Email me at KLM_India@yahoo.com or LFutia@aol.com.
