Hello from bizjournals.com! David Mueller (davidm@smail.info) thought you might like the following article from Pacific Business News: America West gets informational picketing by pilots ------------------------------------------------------------ America West, the mainland carrier that announced a new codesharing alliance with Hawaiian Airlines last week, is getting some criticism from its pilots, but their concerns about the pace of contract negotiations has not progressed to the level of a strike. The Air Line Pilots Association scheduled informational picketing Monday at three locations: America West headquarters in Tempe, Ariz., outside Phoenix; Las Vegas McCarran International Airport; and John Wayne International Airport in Orange County, below Los Angeles. "America West pilots have shown great patience over the last 31 months of negotiations, but that patience is wearing thin," said Herb Holland, chairman of ALPA's America West unit. Negotiations began in February 2000 and are now under federal mediation. Pilots will walk the informational picket lines in uniform. Copyright(c) American City Business Journals Inc.
