Continental says Sept unit revenue up 9 to 11 pct=20 =09 Tuesday October 1, 5:39 PM EDT=20 HOUSTON, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Continental Airlines Inc. (CAL <http://money.excite.com/jsp/qt/full.jsp?time=3D0&symbol_search_text=3DCA= L> ) said on Tuesday its September revenue per available seat mile (RASM), which measures how much the airline takes in when it moves one seat one mile, increased between 9 percent and 11 percent over September 2001. But the Houston-based airline said RASM fell between 17 percent and 19 percent over September 2000, which it said was a better comparison due to the impact of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on air travel last September. Continental, the No. 5 U.S. air carrier, said its systemwide load factor, which measures the number of seats filled on its planes, rose 6.5 percentage points to 67.9 percent. The airline said passenger traffic rose 23.7 percent and capacity increased 11.8 percent over September 2001.=20 =A92002 Reuters Limited.=20
