According to the Economic Times, Air India have narrowed their choice of new aircraft to the Boeing 777-200 LR (or is it the ER...with AI you can never tell) or the A340-500 for their long range operations, and to the Boeing 737-900 or the Airbus A321 for their short to medium range operations. They ostensibly plan on buying up to 38 aircraft over the next few years. I guess seeing is believing. Apparently the A33-200 was nixed because of its lower capacity. I would have thought that the 332 would be an ideal aircraft for the development of new routes. In any case, lets see where this goes; with the Indian govt involved final decisions can drag on for decades. Leo/ORD Email me at KLM_India@yahoo.com or LFutia@aol.com. The choice is yours. Take your pick! I check both.
