couple of clarifications...

Lamar Muse, first president of Southwest, started Muse Air with DC-9s and
MD80s out of spite and wound up selling the airline to LUV after incurring
heavy losses. The original livery was a creme colored fuselage with "Muse
Air" written at an angle in cursive. Very attractive. Southwest changed the
livery to a very ugly purple and name to TranStar and incurred even heavier
losses than Big Daddy (Lamar Muse). Herb Kelleher had the good sense to put
the carrier out of shareholder's misery by shutting it down and selling Mad
Dogs to Continental at verrrrry attractive prices. Continental returned the
favor by getting out of LUV's hair at Hobby Field. From that time forward
there has been peace and harmony between both carriers in Houston!
