Air Canada to Launch Non-Stop Montreal-Atlanta Service
MONTREAL, Aug. 28 /CNW/ - Air Canada today announced the launch of non-
stop service between Montr=E9al and Atlanta, Georgia. The new three-times=
daily
service will begin November 4, 2002, using Canadair Regional Jet aircraft
operated by Air Canada Jazz. To promote the new route, Air Canada is=
offering
an introductory fare starting as low as CAD$299 return for travel until
December 9, 2002. In addition, the carrier is offering Aeroplan members=
double
Aeroplan Bonus Miles on the route from November 4 until January 4, 2003.
"We look forward to starting up non-stop service in the=
Montr=E9al-Atlanta
market and further strengthening Air Canada's extensive transborder=
network,"
said Bill Bredt, Vice President, Network and Revenue Management. "We expect
the new service to appeal to the Montr=E9al business community as well as
leisure travellers seeking direct access to the wide range of cultural and
sporting activities the deep south has to offer."
Air Canada Jazz will operate the new route using Canadair Regional Jet
(CRJ) aircraft manufactured by Montr=E9al-based Bombardier Aerospace. The
Canadair Regional Jet carries 50 passengers in a two-by-two seating
arrangement, providing all passengers with either a window or aisle seat.
Known as the quietest commercial jet aircraft in the world, the CRJ aircraft
operated by Air Canada Jazz offers the added luxury and comfort of leather-
upholstered seating.
