Hi

Yep, BCAL operated the DC10-30 from 1977 onwards. When BA tookover they were
due to dispose of the DC10 fleet and as such started to rip out all of the
hanger equipment.

They soon realised that the utilisation was very high, and 11 years later
they finally disposed of them, some to cargo ops.

To see some pictures of BCAL's DC10's and also there Boeing 747 Fleet (all 5
of them - one was a lease in 1976 / 77)

www.british-caledonian.com

There are also images of the BCAL MD11, they ordered 3 and had options on 8
more, BA cancelled the order, and the delivery slots were taken up by AA i
believe.

Also a BCAL MD88, an impression issued by McDD back in the mid 1980's

Plus lots more

HS Trident?

This is a fire training aircraft, i have never got that near to it, but its
up at the fire ground

>DH Comet sitting on the hardstand alongside other aircraft, although with
the outer wings removed. Why is it being dismantled there?

This has been at LGW for ages, its used as a tug training aircraft before
they let the new guys near the expensive planes. Its often to be seen being
towed around and reversed all over the place.

All the best, and please stop by the site, its worth the trip
