Just flew Alaska B737-400 Tucson Seattle (Friday am) and same plane back
Sunday night. Saw a RT $144.00 fare on their web site and grabbed it for
wifes birthday outing--cheaper than staying home almost. Loved Seattle-great
sunny weather and 85f-was told its never happened before  -}
Full plane going out (noticed only 3 center seats open) and tons of
kids-whats happening with all the familys traveling-just the low fares? On
time, crowded and uncomfortable seating with paper cup of salad and candy bar
for lunch.
Overbooked on the return Sunday evening and asking for volunteers to get off.
Peanuts and cup of soda for dinner. 2 hour and 45 min flight each way with
some bouncing around in thunderstorms on the landing at Tucson. Normal this
time of year.
I was impressed how solid the B737 feels in rough weather-quiet etc. A recent
trip on A319 in similar turbulance made enough noise to raise the
dead-everything rattles and shakes and groans-sounds like a piece of junk.
Anyway Alaska Air seems very ok in fact you couldnt tell them from Southwest
except on Southwest you get 2-3 bags of nuts iso just one.
