BWEE cancellations continue Trinidad Guardian Beleaguered BWIA was forced to cancel another international flight yesterday because of absent crew. Williams said one flight to Washington was cancelled because a crew member called in sick and they could not find a replacement. Two regional flights - one to Grenada and one to George Town - along with two domestic flights were cancelled as a result of mechanical problems with a Dash 8 airplane. Williams maintained the airline has not received any official notification from T&T Airline Pilots Association (Talpa) of industrial action. Despite the lack of official notification he said "we are concerned about the high number of cancellations as a result of the unavailability of crew, as opposed to the situation last year with a similar schedule." Representatives from the airline and Talpa are continuing talks, with the Ministry of Labour acting as mediator, with a view to resolving the situation.
