Fiji airline promises normal operations by Friday

------------------------------------------------------------
The Fijian airline Air Pacific says its flights will be back to normal
by Friday after a Fijian arbitrator ordered striking workers to return
   to work Wednesday.

Hundreds of Air Pacific employees, who had been striking for pay raises
and better working conditions, met Wednesday night and voted to comply
   with the order.

Air Pacific was forced to reschedule a number of flights but said it
maintained its key touristy routes including those from Hawaii and the
U.S. mainland It had help from charter flights scrambled by the
Australian carrier Qantas, which has a stake in Air Pacific.

Fiji gets 400,000 visitors a year.
