BWIA, pilots in talks By ANNABELLE BRASNELL Trinidad Guardian British West Indian Airways (BWIA) and the T&T Airline Pilots Association (Talpa) are trying to rise above the turbulence in their relationship. The airline and the association started conciliatory talks on Monday. BWIA's corporate communication director, Clint Williams said yesterday: "There is still communication, talks are ongoing." Since the airline started to experience problems with excessive illness among pilots, Talpa has maintained that they have not been carrying out any industrial action. However, a source at the airline said the talks were started at the request of the pilots' association. The two parties met on Monday with three representatives of the Ministry of Labour acting as mediators (of sorts). BWIA presented its arguments at that meeting and Talpa will get the opportunity to respond when they meet again next Monday. The representatives from the Ministry of Labour are supposed to help both sides come to amicable solutions to their problems The owner of Roger's Trinbago Site: Roj (Roger James) *************************************************** escape email mailto:ejames@escape.ca Trinbago site: http://www.tntisland.com CBC Website http://www.tntisland.com/caribbeanbrassconnection/ The Trinbago Site of the Week: (TnT Medical Assn.) http://www.tntmedical.com/ (Trinidad & Tobago Medical Association) courtesy of Roj Trinbago Website & TnT Web Directory Roj's Trinbago Website: http://www.tntisland.com TnT Web Directory: http://search.co.tt *********************************************************
