For those of you with flight tracking software, Northwest's first 757-300 revenue flight is in the air right now, NW 161 from MSP to SEA.

The aircraft will begin its "regular" schedule pattern tomorrow, operating NW 276 SEA-DTW and NW 277 DTW-SEA.

I went out to MSP to see the first flight depart - you have to see a 757-300 in person to realize how much longer it is than the 757-200. Pictures don't do the length of this airplane justice!!!!!

The difference is at least as noticeable as the difference between a DC-8-50 and a DC-8-61 or -63. The 757-300 looked really good in Northwest's colors.

Northwest is now the third US operator of the 757-300, joining Continental and American Trans Air; Condor, Arkia, JMC, and Icelandic also operate them.
