Air New Zealand management says it will not halt service either on its main division or on its discount subsidiaries Freedom Air and Mount Cook Airlines. The airline notified its more than 600 pilots that to cut costs it intends to reduce their salaries by 15 percent. Mechanics for the airline, faced with similar demands by management, said they, too, were thinking about a strike. Air New Zealand flies regular service to Honolulu.
