UA/Great Lakes Question

I'd love to know why certain Great Lakes flights are codeshare with UA and
others aren't. Follow my thoughts...

Case in point:

Great Lakes #636 (DVL-JMS-MSP) is NOT United #636 (ORD-EWR)
Great Lakes #5003 (DEN-EAR) IS United #5003 (DEN-EAR)

So, I added a "5" to my first flight number. But that didn't work as UA
#5636 is DEN-PIA.

Explanations?

- Blaine

Codes:
DEN - Denver, CO
DVL - Devil Lakes, ND
EWR - Newark, NJ
JMS - Jamestown, ND
MSP - Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN
ORD - Chicago/O'Hare International, IL
PIA - Peoria, IL
