With immediate effect, airlines of the two countries can fly as many passenger or cargo flights as they like without restrictions on prices or types of aircraft, the U.S. State Department said in a statement. An airline based in one of the two countries can also operate flights between the other country and third countries, without a connection to the airline's home country, it added. It is the 58th "open skies" agreement for the United States and its 12th with an African government. Cape Verde is a group of islands in the Atlantic, to the west of Senegal.
