After a three-week search, the cockpit voice recorder from the China Airlines plane which crashed off the west coast of Taiwan has been recovered.Investigators will be hoping the recorder, known as the 'black box' will provide vital information about the final minutes of the Boeing 747 which plunged into the Taiwan Strait on May 25, killing all 225 people on board.A second 'black box' - the flight recorder - has not yet been recovered. The voice recorder was brought up from the sea bed on Tuesday after search teams, working nearly 200 feet below the surface, had battled with strong currents and poor visibility.Investigators from Taiwan's Aviation Safety Council said that signals from the recorder had been very weak and the searchers had been fortunate to locate it.The aircraft, which was on a routine flight from Taipei to Hong Kong, is thought to have broken up in mid-air about 20 minutes after take-off from the Taiwan capital's airport.
