I'm aware of the internal firewalls.  Market share and ARC data is currently available to all carriers who want to pay for it.

Right now, AA knows what % of lift UA gets in whichever markets they choose to target, and from which ticketing sources.  All they need to do is agree to hand the data off to a third party.

And PNR information sharing is a hot topic, particularly in Europe.  I believe Amadeus found itself in The Hague on just this point several months ago.
