American Will Begin Los Angeles - Tokyo Service on April 1, 2003 LOS ANGELES, May 31 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines, which is in the midst of a $270 million renovation to its Terminal 4 facility at Los Angeles International Airport, today announced that it will introduce daily nonstop service between LAX and Tokyo on April 1, 2003. The new service, which requires government approvals, will be the second new service to Tokyo announced by American this year. The world's largest airline began flying nonstop to Japan's capital city from New York's JFK International Airport in April. American also provides daily service to Tokyo from its hubs in Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth as well as from San Jose in California's Silicon Valley.
