Not all pilots were armed. Nor will all pilots be armed
(it's voluntary) if Congress gets its act together.

If the policeman was trained to operate an aircraft, I
would.  It's not apple and oranges.  The pilots would be
trained in the use of a weapon by a qualified
instructor, and it wouldn't be a crash course.

As mentioned earlier, not every pilot would be armed
because it would be voluntary.  If you can't trust
yourself to be with a weapon, I have great doubts about
if I'd want to be an aircraft that you are piloting.
