Leo, I wouldn't worry yet. The first step is Chapter 11, reorganization. The airline will still be operating for the most part. This is where everyone gets together that US is involved with and agrees on a plan for payments and the management of its assets. Could be any number of scenarios the court sets up and parties agree upon. Chapter 11 can last a year or more. If things don't work out, then it's Chapter 7..liquidation.
