------------------------------------

-Continental Airlines 757-300s, which begin to appear on Newark-Houston services in April, will start to show up in numbers with the beginning of May schedules on May 5th. IAH will now see 753 services to New Orleans, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles on a daily basis. Denver will be a new 757-300 city starting in June. On a related note, Continental will be replacing a 757-200 flying San Jose, Costa Rica-IAH with a 767-200 in May.

-Air Canada has transferred all operations to Terminal A, North Concourse, joining Star Alliance partner United Airlines.

-USAirways will be introducing Airbus aircraft on routes to IAH from their three main hubs. Effective June 15th, Philidelphia/Charlotte/Pittsburgh-Houston will all see two A319s apiece, replacing 737-300s.

-British Airways has commenced service on London (Heathrow)-Washington (Dulles)-Houston, with a four class 747-400. The flight arrives in Houston at 3:55PM and departs back for Washington at 5:10PM. This flight supplements, not replaces, British Airways’ daily 777-200 service to London (Gatwick).

-Delta Airlines, effective April 9th, is now offering premium passengers and frequent fliers faster security lines at IAH. Platinum or Gold Medallion members, Crown Room members, and travelers flying in Business Elite are eligible to use these new lines. IAH was one of nine airports receiving new security lines that day, giving Delta a total of seventeen airports with expedited security screening.

-Des Moines is the latest city to see new service to Houston. Continental Express will commence double daily flights to this Iowa city on July 8th, using the ERJ-145. COEX will also be connecting Des Moines with Newark in June.
