Small Caribbean airline to fly weekly New York-Guyana-Senegal route Associated Press * 3-26-02 GEORGETOWN, Guyana -- Universal Airlines, a small New York-based company, on Monday announced plans to fly a weekly route from New York to West Africa, via Georgetown. Universal, which serves the Caribbean with flights between New York and Guyana via Trinidad, will launch its first flight to Senegal on April 1. ``For sometime people have been trying to get South African Airways to fly to the Caribbean and then on to Africa,'' the company's sales manager Mark Defreitas said. ``We are set.'' The weekly route will go from New York to Georgetown, and then on to Senegal's capital, Dakar. The last leg ``is only going to take 4-1/2 hours,'' DeFreitas said. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/templates/misc/printstory.jsp?slug=sfl%2D325guyana _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
