runway lengths SOLVED and DEN update

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all, I have done some digging and this is what I found. Thanks to all who
helped.

JFK tops at 14572, followed by DFW with 13401, MIA and ORD with 13000 and the
BGR one, which, depending on the source is 12680.

I used to live in Denver, and I know that one of the DEN runways now has an
unofficial "usable" length of 13-something. I remember that modifications were
made to accommodate the Lufthansa FRT flight United wanted so bad in Denver.
In the thin Denver air in the summer, a full plane cant effectively take off or
something to that nature was the concern. Also, the new runway at DEN to come
online in 04 or 15 will top them all at 16,000.
