According to what I heard at WN HDQ here in DAL, the plastic boarding cards
represent WN's "required" backup plan that they must have on file with the
FAA in the event the computers or boarding pass printers go down.

Because of this, the company can be fined if anyone is in possession of
them, as this would mean someone would have a "legal" boarding document
without having actually exchanged a ticket or other official boarding document.

Believe me, I'd LUV a set myself -- who wouldn't!?!?!?  ;- )
