Hello from bizjournals.com! David Mueller (kawika42@mac.com) thought you might like the following article from Pacific Business News: JAL sets up 3G flight booking ------------------------------------------------------------ Japan Airlines, the largest airline based in Japan, has begun to enable booking over NTT DoCoMo's next-generation iMode cellular phones. Not all JAL flights can be booked this way, but Hawaii routes can, as well as flights to Guam/Saipan and Seoul. JAL has more flights to Hawaii than rival ANA or any U.S. carrier serving Japan-Hawaii routes. Tickets booked by iMode can be paid by credit card or at a convenience store. DoCoMo has been leading the world in rollouts of third generation (3G) cellular phones. The devices are effectively telephones and computers rolled into one piece of hardware, they have small screens, and they are constantly connected to the Internet. In other next generation ticket booking news, Singapore Airlines has become the latest Asia-Pacific carrier to permit Internet check-in. Copyright(c) American City Business Journals Inc.
