Air Canada shares rebound to pre-Sept. 11 levels Last Updated Mon, 11 Mar 2002 11:46:39 TORONTO - Shares of Air Canada surged more than 10 per cent Monday as=20 investors warmed to the idea that the country's dominant air carrier was=20 flying more passengers, recalling staff, and was on track to once again=20 turning a profit. Air Canada shares were up 64 cents to $6.37 at 11: 08=20 a.m. ET. The shares changed hands as high as $6.45 in the first hour of=20 trading. Late last week, Air Canada said it was recalling 250 flight=20 attendants and ground workers and would call back more. It reported its=20 revenue passenger miles in February were 2.9 per cent higher than last year= =20 and said its planes were lying with more than 76 per cent of their seats=20 sold =96 a record for any February. The airline is also planning to combine= =20 its four regional airlines =96 AirBC, Canadian Regional, Air Ontario, and= Air=20 Nova =96 into one as of June 7.
