SAA according to inside sources, the board has decided to go for the Airbus offer and an announcement will be made public within the next 14 days. This was reported in the Sunday Times dated 3 March 2002. The main motivating factor been the criteria of the Airbus 4 engines as opposed to the Boeing 2 engines.
