Word of the contract's rejection by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers was posted on the 13,000-member bargaining unit's Web site. The IAM urged United's management to immediately resume negotiations and held out the possibility for conducting round-the-clock talks on the long-sought contract. The union said it would seek 'significant improvements' in any revised contract, which it would be prepared to submit to a rank-and-file vote as of mid-March.
