"The decision by Delta Air Lines and Air France is an evidence that our safety standards have come up to the international level," said William Han, a Korean Air spokesman. Han said the new arrangement will take effect on Feb. 15 when representatives of the three airlines sign a formal agreement in Seoul. Delta and Air France jointly cut off their code-sharing arrangements with Korean Air immediately after a Korean Air cargo plane crashed after taking off from Shanghai, China, in April 1999, killing all three crewmen and five people on the ground. The crash was one in a series of disasters involving Korean Air. In December the same year, a Korean Air cargo plane crashed after takeoff from England's Stansted airport. All four crewmen on board were killed. =20 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2002 AP
